Plus it's a pain in the tush to go out on the Strip to eat, compared to the ease of a locals place. And, I get really sick of them assuming I'm a tourist, and all they want to do is turn the table as fast as possible.

I prefer Italian most of the time when we eat out. Still love the linguine and clams at Grape Street, Buffalo and Lake Mead. But there are a ton of really good Italian restaurants in Las Vegas. Gina's Bistro is actually a better restaurant, but for us Grape Street is more convenient. Gina's Bistro - Home

For Thai Food, we prefer Pinkaow, Rainbow and Lake Mead.

Japanese, Sushi Ko, Craig and Tenaya.

But, we'll go all the way to Henderson to have Lucille's BBQ, and now there is one in the Red Rock Casino.

2 million people in Las Vegas - 6 million great restaurants.

If I want to eat there I don't worry too much about price. But having traveled to many convention locations, restaurants are like airlines; they know that some deep pocket business is paying the tab most of the time, and they raise the rates accordingly. The traveler/eater on an expense account doesn't care. It's either not his money, or it's deductible. And, I'm surprised at how tourists seem to accept high prices, like sheep. If I was a tourist here, I'd be sure to eat "off Strip" for every meal.

I've said before....this is a great place to live, but I wouldn't want to visit here.

That's a national chain. I ate there two days ago in NYC. Not bad for what it is.

Anyone go to Lotus of Siam? It seem like a local place, but I keep hearing about it.

I'll help you break that record. We went there earlier this year. Some of the best food I've ever eaten.

Massive menu goes against my intuition of what constitutes a good restaurant.
