I'm posting this for my parents who are looking to retire from the East Coast to out West. They've been going to Vegas for years now, like the climate, cost of living, and many of the other perks they've come across along the way. They don't have to worry about schools, or jobs, or things of that nature. They've found a few homes for sale online that are out in Enterprise but I've found mixed info on the forum regarding this area. Is it "high crime?" What's the demographic? The homes they've looked at certainly aren't cheap. Just looking to get some basic, general info or even a few opinions.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Enterprise is more a governmental entity (and not much of one at that) than a community/neighborhood. Do you know the neighborhood, or nearby major intersection. You'd probably get more information, that way.

I'm guessing you/they are looking in Southern Highlands. I will be a one year resident there as of July 4th and we love it. The only negative I can see is an overpriced and rather lacking Smith's grocery store and limited food delivery options. Close to strip and airport and Henderson. I only see Enterprise come up in FB and other things like that.

They found a few homes that are near Southern Highlands Pkwy. One of the homes backs to the golf course. They're not golfers but really liked the home. Would you mind sharing a few things you love about it? And, are you a NV native or a transplant?

Enterprise is a pretty big area. Basically west of 15 and south of 215. It includes zip 89118 where I live and work. Nobody calls it Enterprise though its all Las Vegas.

I am not a golfer, and live in the neighborhood I think you are referring to. It's quiet and secluded, and sometimes doesn't seem like anyone really lives there. The HOA takes great care of the landscaping there, and after looking at houses all around the valley for four plus years we were just stunned when we got past the gates. HOA is near 450 a month and covers nothing related to your own property, just common areas and the guys with the guns at the gates.

The only noise we hear day or night is maybe sprinklers or our pool filter. The majority of the neighborhood is older and wealthy and seem to have more than one home. We are under 40 and seem to be rather young here.
We came from Vail, CO. and only miss it in July and August, and even then not so much.
Cheers!

As has been pointed out Enterprise is a town within Clark County. Virtually no one who lives in Enterprise is aware of it. It has significance only on zoning issues and such.

Southern Highlands is a very nice place. Particularly if you can afford golf front. But there are at least 15 equivalents in Clark County. I generally recommend Southern Highlands to those with a desire for suburban but with strong strip ties. Otherwise there are better choices

I live in Enterprise-- and no, we generally don't call it that. I'm around Windmill and Rainbow, and I love this area. I don't think that crime is too big of a problem here. There is plenty of shopping around Rainbow and 215. I'm not in Southern Highlands, so I can't speak about what it's like there, but I love the area I live in.

Thanks! This all is great information. When you say that there are better places, where would they be? I think my parents liked about the homes they saw in Southern Highlands is that many of them have the look and feel of homes here (east coast). The outside of the houses they've liked have the west coast/hot climate style of stucco/stone, but the inside has been complete with hardwood floor, a nice flow that isn't "boxy" like the average home in Vegas. Other areas they've looked either have a nice outside OR a nice inside. The homes they've come across in Southern Highlands seem to have both of what they're looking for. But, if there are other comparable areas, please share!

Thanks again!
