Anyone familiar with the Rock in Rio Festival being held at the MGM festival area?
They are having a rock festival May 8th and 9th and Pop Festival May 15th and 16th.
Some real popular bands playing suck as Metallica, No Doubt, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars etc.

Have they had this in Las Vegas before? I don't remember seeing it advertised previous years.
Is this the area in back of the MGM Grand? This looks like it would be fun but I'm sure it would be crowded.

Wow just checked Ticketmaster almost $1,000 for 2 tickets.

The parking garage at the Hilton has the best views of the entire Rock in Rio USA site.

Rock in Rio comes to the Las Vegas strip off of Sahara and Las Vegas blvd. High rise properties close to this venue may have noise from time to deal with when events are held at this site. The music is held on a out door stage amongst other activities going on.

That's what they've been constructing on the grounds of the old El Rancho Vegas on the SW corner of LV Blvd. South., and Sahara. I don't know for sure, but if you've ever been to First Friday then you know that they have several bandstands set up which don't interfere with each other. So, I doubt if ambient sound will be a problem. What I've been wondering about is how they will handle parking and traffic.

Parking does seem to be completely forgotten. I can not imagine the traffic. That intersection is going to be worse than Flamingo/LVB every weekend.

It's $298 for GA for 2 days, 8-9 May. Just checked it. Has been this price since they released them.

I think that I may have been looking at VIP tickets or something. They were listed at $498 each.
Even the general admission at $298 is pretty steep.
