So most of what I've found that I like in my price range, which I upped to $1000-1500, is in the SW and Henderson. The primary zips I'm going to have a look at are 89139, 89178, and 89179 in the SW and 89011 and 89074 in Henderson. Any other suggestions? I'll be flying out Sunday. Thanks all.

Thanks for the suggestion. These are in the Seven Hills area, correct? Someone mentioned this area in an earlier post.

89044 includes Anthem and Inspirada. 89052 includes Seven Hills and Green Valley Ranch

Thank you. I went and checked out the two zips I mentioned before in Henderson today. They were both nice but not very near amenities that I noticed. Is that something I should expect? Where I live now there are multiple grocery stores within a few miles.

Anything up the hill like 89052 is going to have only limited commercial. Commercial is located on the arterials and near the 215. You want 89012 or 89074 for close in services.

That is the reason I chose 89074 over 89044, which is where I had initially limited my search. Even though I work from home, many of the activities we enjoy, and friends with whom we enjoy those activities, are across town. From my house to my friend's house off of Grand Teton, it's 40-45 minutes. From 89044, it's over an hour.

The views are better, in my opinion, from 89044, but being a mile or so from the 215 is big for us. Plus, we have 8 or 9 restaurants within walking distance, grocery stores, gas stations, etc, right out side our neighborhood. The convenience factor was a big decision when we planned where to live.

Am I correct in stating that these two zips are in the Green Valley area? I stayed near there the first night I got in and I definitely noticed lots of restaurants, Walmart, Target, etc. I'm not really opposed to driving for groceries, as I'd have to commute to and from the strip area anyway. It would just take some coordination and would make 'impulse' purchasing more cumbersome.

89074 is Green Valley. 89012 has Green Valley Ranch, MacDonald Ranch, and all of the neighborhoods along Horizon Ridge.

89012 is my favorite zip code in the valley, mostly due to the views. 89002 is probably my second favorite, but it's around the back of the mountain, and just a smidge too far for me, personally.

I went up to Mt. Charleston yesterday and drove through some of the areas in the northwest on the way back down. I'm not sure what zips that would be but I drove roughly 2 or 3 miles on Grand Canyon and then turned east and drove a while south on North Durango until I jumped on the 215 into Summerlin (I believe Red Rock Resort is in Summerlin?). Then I went to Red Rock Canyon and checked out some zips in the southwest on the way back to downtown. I believe those were 89139, 89178, and 89179.
