Good thing, 'cause we know BS when we hear it. 1%'rs do not make the kind of presentation here you have.

There are nearly 10 million millionaires in America. There are roughly 20,000 towns and cities in America. If it was a straight distribution, that would be 500 millionaires per town. But we all know THAT isn't the case.

In a city like Las Vegas, some neighborhoods are populated entirely by millionaires. And half the other neighborhoods likely have a millionaire quietly living in plain sight. (And let's face it, a million bucks hasn't been "easy street" for a very long time. But it's still a convenient yardstick.)

I didn't participate in the poll. Income isn't particularly relevant. Only cash flow and net worth matter. The person earning $100K and spending $100,001 per year is in no better financial shape than the person earning $30K and spending $30,001. But the person who makes $40K and lives on $20K is doing far better than the person who makes $100K and lives on $99K.

Neighborhood millionaires. Where we lived before moving here we had three that we knew of. None of them were obvious about it. The most interesting was a family that moved from Nigeria. The day that the father left work early to be sworn in as an American citizen he stopped to have his lottery ticket checked.

Won $1 million dollars.

There were two others that I suspected were as well.

I know a few millionaires. You could never tell they were loaded.
One of them wrecked, got a broken neck, was awarded 8,000,000
He took it, turned down disability, and holds a 40 hour a week job.

Seriously? Wow some people are so bitter.

Here are pictures I just took right now of my most recent purchases. Rolex for me and Chanel handbag for my wife.

If I'd known this thread was going to turn stupid I would not have bothered.

Ask about money and Las Vegas and its always going to turn this way. There are a lot of good discussions we could have here on the dynamics about the local job market, but they always devolve into one of the following:
1. I make more than you.
2. I dont care what I make, I just like no snow.
3. I make too little and its totally unfair.
4. I/we dont make enough because there are too many illegals here.

I think we have seen most of those so far, but once 4 shows up the thread gets locked.

I will now revise my situation.

I make over 100 million dolllars a year at 38 years old. I hope to be a billionaire in my 40's. I also have a bridge to sell you.
Well, the poll may actually be accurate. Think about it: very poor people don't have computers or >$100 per month to spend on Cox plans to be online. Many of us are transplants from CA where $100k incomes are really not that unusual.

Dude, those are not purchases a 1%'er would make. People with real money would see those as being something the Nouveau Riche buy to impress their middle class friends.
