Obviously a troll, but let's not act like we arent "above average" in crimes committed. So many transients escaping from another town to come to LV and continue doing the same crap.

I'm shocked how many angry and rude posters are here and some of them are long term members. If you can't help or answer my question and concern then please avoid trolling and personal attacks.

Again, what is best way to stay safe in Las Vegas due to increase in violent crimes?
Thank you

Jenna

I would move to Henderson, since it's in the top ten safest cities in the nation last year. It's also been ranked several times as one of America's Best Places to Live.

Henderson ranked among America's 10 safest cities - www.ktnv.com

There's perception and then there is reality.

I subscribe to 8newsnow.com email updates, and if you only look at the headlines, I have to agree with the OP, it seems like crime is running rampant. The reality may be that crime levels are average compared to other metropolitan areas of similar size, but depending on your media source, you may be getting a very distorted view of reality.

I agree all these studies and reports can be contradictory and confusing. That being said, metro themselves announced a major increase in violent crime in May of this year.Police address crime rate increase in Las Vegas - www.ktnv.com

Crime is on the rise in my area as well.

For instance, someone stole one of the Hatch chile roasting rigs from Smith's. And there have been some smash-and-grab burglaries in the neighborhoods surrounding mine.

Oh good grief...they are attributing the deaths in the van at the lake to environmental exposure. It appears the people went out unprepared, got stuck, lacked survival skills and died. As sad as it is that is a reality of backcountry in the desert.

That usually happens once every summer, along with a couple of drownings.

As far a crime in general, five years ago, a murder would be big news. Now shootings are bylines.
