I tried a search, only found a thread about the Cannery theaters from earlier this year. Are there any other movie theaters that are "must do"?

All of the theaters are pretty nice. You just have to go through a casino to get to one.

The only thing I'd say is "must do" is the drive - in. Those are an endangered species.

I've been to a few of them. Regal; Fiesta in southeast Henderson, GVR, Boulder station, Village Square up in summerlin. Century; Suncoast, South Point, Sam's Town.

Everything outside of Henderson is a drive from where I am, but I'm probably chasing a movie I want to see that's not playing locally.

I can say that Century South Point has a no outside drinks policy that they enforce with rigor. Even if you purchased the cup of coffee in casino. Whatever.

Regal Village Square and Sam's Town play a lot of the foreign films, and if you add Suncoast, they play the limited release films - most times Regal Village Square will have it. In the link, the good films will be at the bottom of the second column, and won't be playing anywhere else in town.

^ btw, if you're searching for a specific movie, use the link above and enter the title and if it's playing, all of the theaters showing it will show, or, if it's playing in the near future, it will show the date or day of the week is starts. Very useful.

One day I was going to see a film that was playing at both the Village Square and Regal Cinemas Downtown Summerlin 5 (also on Sahara but more west just off the 215 in the downtown summerlin mall). So I thought I'd try the downtown one. Drove up, parked, walked in for a ticket and the price was too high as they have the reclining seats, bar, whatever else so their prices are higher than your average ticket anywhere else. I fled and went to village square.

I rarely pay over $8.50 for my ticket, senior price. Sometimes lower, depending on the day, first showing or not, etc.

This article may or may not be up to date, but gives you an idea as to the discounts that are out there:

Bargains still abound in Southern Nevada movie theaters, Aug 2, 2012

If you have a bad experience during your film, see the manager, or write to regal corporate. I've contacted regal corporate on several occasions and they've sent me two no expiration tickets that are good for all special showings and any 3 d (which i don't go to since i don't wear glasses over my glasses).

Galaxy Plus in Henderson is a comfy place to see a movie. Very plush reclining seats and beer and wine available.

Must do... it depends what is driving your criteria.

if it's merely aesthetics then any of the upscale theaters like Downtown Summerlin's regal 5 ( there are a couple more) are great, well worth the price of admission as far as I am concerned.

But if your search is more technically oriented, then your choices are far more limited.

which is it OP?

I've had to go TO a casino to go to the movies, but never THROUGH. The ones I've gone to (5 or 6), there has been a separate entrance not on the casino floor.

We enjoy the $4 first run movies at Sams Town and Boulder Station on Wednesdays. Afterwards the restaurants, including TGIF at Sams Town, are 2 for 1! Theatres are a little old compared to Palms where I love the IMAX theatre. A little on the pricey side but are supposed to be just wonderful that our friends recommend are the Galaxy Luxury theatres which are in various locations....i.e. Green Valley...They have plush reclining seats and a gourmet sausage bar and - for our guests over 21 - a selection of local favorite beers and wines. I've yet to hit a Galaxy Luxury movie but have it on my bucket list.
