Check your last water bill and see what the rate/1,000 gallons is. It's likely in the $2-3/1,000 range, so the cost to fill the pool will be $20-30. It's peanuts compared to what people think it'll cost.

Billing Period: 12/05/07 - 01/04/08

Service Charge $0.1347 x 31 Days $4.18
Tier #1 4 x $1.10 $4.40
SNWA Commodity Charge 4 x $0.10 .40
SNWA Reliability Surcharge 0.02
Total # of Days: 31
Billed Usage 4
Subtotal $9.00

The usage in gallons was 4

It doesn't show rate/1,000 gallon unless it is 4 usage in 1000 gallons..

30 bucks max for a 10K galon pool. When you refil it, make sure you get someone who knows what they are doing with the startup chemcals. This is very important. You want to make sure the total alkalinity and PH is in check. Your going to have to brush your pool every 8 hours or so to get all that excess plaster off. After all the excess plaster is off, clean your filters or backwash your DE or Sand. PM me if you need more help.

That's 4,000 gallons, so you're paying around $2.25/1,000 with all the service charges, taxes, etc. Filling the pool will cost you less than $25.

Alright. Thanks so much for your help.

Question:

Should I paint the pool after they're finished with re plastering?

In a word- no. Leave the plaster alone- if you maintain the water chemistry correctly and do an acid wash every 3-5 years, you should get 15 years out of a good plaster job.

DO NOT PAINT THE POOL!.. But PH and Alk is the key to long lasting plaster. Also TDS (total disolved solids) change your water every 2-3 years or when your TDS is high and your water hardness is above 1500. Do you have a heater? make sure the water's PH is at 7.4-7.6 and not below 7.0 because your heater core will start to disolve and coat your plaster with a copper blue/green color. But Bob K. is right, proper water chemistry is key...
