I read somewhere he may have Goldman-Sachs people lined up.

Do they have the right to cut out Adelson if he decides not to play nice? What if he decides that he doesn't want to put up his pledged amount? How is he going to be moved out of the way?

Does anyone know the agreement of Adelson and the Raiders? I don't believe the details have been disclosed.

There is none so far. Adelson deal is related to the stadium. Raiders have no deal with anyone yet because they need league approvals, well they are supposed to get them. As usual this is full of landmines, lots of things could blow it up.

TIFWIW.....

"Is the NFL ready for Las Vegas? It better be.

The Raiders will file relocation papers to move from Oakland to Las Vegas, according to sources familiar with their thinking. After a year of planning, debate, and bold action, after many years of a sub-par stadium option in Oakland, the Raiders have made a firm decision on their future......"

It appears only a negative league vote can stop it now. Davis has other investors lined up in the event he can't come to an agreement with Adelson. He probably has a better chance of getting the 24 owner votes if the casino magnate is left out to be honest.

A negative vote probably would not stop him, would probably just drive him to move anyway or go to court. One more reason I expect the vote to landslide in his favor, owners won't go against one another without good reason. Vote should be just a formality .

The only reason they would vote it down is if the league bean counters came to the conclusion that Las Vegas isn't a viable market. We can debate this, and many in here already have, but I don't think filling a 65,000 seat venue will be an issue between the 2 million plus local population and the approximately 750K visitors that come through on any given week.

This isn't legally possible for multiple reasons if he wants the public funding. The language of the law wouldn't allow it not to mention his part of the funding would come from the NFL so if they tell him no he doesn't get that either. No court would compel the NFL to put up that money nor is there enough time for any such case to make it through the court system by the time the public funding offer expires in a year.

There is a big difference between this and his father's LA move; There's no existing viable stadium.

As for Adelson and his position in the law as it pertains to funding asked by Willy702: It's all up to the NFL team. Adelson/Sands don't have any exclusive rghts. They also have no obligation.
