And are they still censoring the stand-up comics in Sin-Less city? I hear they still are!

I live in California, and I am one of these weekenders. I read tons of CA hate in this forum, admittedly it might be from the same handful of people, but it's there. Makes no difference to me, I'm just stating what I see. Frankly, as I get older I'm getting more and more over this state and the residence. Great place to grow up, not so great to grow old.

The more California money that gets spent in Nevada, the better. I've known many people from Southern California who cruise out to LV for a weekend of clubbing and pool lounging, and frankly they do it because there isn't a great music/club scene in the LA area, and it takes FOREVER to get anywhere in LA. Las Vegas has an exceptional club scene. Toss in some nice hotel rooms and a nice pool and it's very enticing for people to 'get away' for a weekend. Living in LA is like living in a swarm of bees, so you gotta get away several times a year. I think Los Angeles and Orange County combined have 15 million people. Those two counties have 5 times more people living there than the entire state of Nevada. Perspective.

And we'd like for them to keep living in "SoCal", but keep spending their money in Las Vegas.

Uh, when did "they" ever do that? Apparently you never saw Red Foxx, or Cheech and Chong. But then I haven't been to see a comedian in a while.

I imagine they censor themselves so not to lose their bread and butter, but some just don't give a s***.

I don't hate Californians, but I did for a while when they were ruining our city. Most of them are too laid back to be anything but nice folks. And, of all the ones I've worked with, most are very ambitious and work hard.

Anyone think the pay-to-park for locals will impact the numbers going to shows?

It would be interesting to see MGMs internal numbers on this. Not just shows, but F&B revenues, gaming numbers, etc. They're obviously getting parking revenue they weren't getting before, but I'd love to know if they're losing revenue elsewhere.
