the problem is that there is no good alternative to Cox for high speed internet. Century Link sucks.

The company's "Preferred" 50 Mbps broadband tier will also be seeing a bump from $72.99 to $77.99, while its "Premier" 100 Mbps tier will see an increase from $84.99 to $87.99

Weird, I have premier and pay 52.99 no contract. Maybe it's how long I've had it or something?

Any other alternatives to Cox besides Century Link for Internet service only?

Other than mobile data companies, I don't really think there are any. Cox has been the best in Vegas since I got here 4 years ago.

There are devices that have internet built in - Ipads, Kindles, etc.

I don't think you understood the question

The devices you mention can access the internet, but do not have the internet built in

All ISPs raise prices. They say it's their programming costs.

ISPs don't have programming costs. VSPs (video service providers), meaning if you by cable service from them, do.

Actually, you can buy an Ipad with the internet built in. This is assuming you buy one that is a 3G or 4G one. You are accessing the internet via a cell phone data plan. Not sure though that is the most cost effective way to always go but it might be if that is the only device you want to use.

I downgraded to COX's hidden internet package. It's $38 a month for 5mps. There's no issues browsing and streaming video.
