Cut the cord, and the cord cuts you back.

We don't generally do riots in Las Vegas, but if this keeps up, maybe we will see Internet geeks in the streets! I'd walk for that. " Your friend in the digital age" indeed. < series of bad words >

There's a reason I have their support number memorized, and I worked for one of the companies that paid for half this valley to be dug up to install their first fiber ring. If we had to call them that often......

This is one of my concerns with living out there. Right now I'm looking at Direct TV for TV & internet but I'm not sure how good their internet service is. COX kind of scares me since I'm not familiar with them and they don't get very good reviews.

We have Xfinity/Comcast now and for the most part it is very good. Even their customer service has been good, believe it or not. I would love to have something that is as good as this has been.

How is it that the rest of the "civilized" (and some parts not so "civilized") world can have smooth connections, fast speed and NOT be paying upwards of $65+ per month? These ankle grabbing prices are getting beyond ridiculous! What a racket!

DirecTV internet has tremendous lag: a latency of 500 ms. Compare this to Cox at 10 ms.

FWIW I am very happy with Cox and have always received good customer service from them, although there is almost never a reason for me to contact them. I am in Southern Highlands. YMMV.

Look at the taxes the people in those places are paying. There's no such thing as a free lunch.

My Cox internet goes down multiple times each and every week. In each of the last six days it has gone down at least once. One of the issues lasted four hours.

The last time it got this bad I called repeatedly and got a free three months. It got slightly better for a while and now it is back to where it was before. I just tried to call them during today's outage and their CS phone number gave me the first busy signal I've heard in years. The company is truly incompetent.

I can't get the Centurylink high speed service in my area so Cox has a monopoly unless someone has an alternative.
