We have a problem of the system in our country........system that works only for a few and exploits the rest of the citizens.
You sound like a child that has gone through years in school of left wing indoctrination.

Have a respect for work.
Expect to work 45 years or more.
Respect those who can afford to offer jobs (owners/corporations).
Don't be entitlement minded, you'll starve.
Instead of being jealous of others, emulate what made them successful.

No one is exploited. You either prepared yourself to be employable or you screwed around.

At least in Vegas you can get a cheap home. IMO you can live pretty well and for the most part the people are nice, though quite transient.

Corporate brainwashing.

The banks used their toxic loans to raise capital at the expense of the traditional homeowner. The gimmick is known as "death spiral" finance. These "traditional" people worked all their lives and did not overspend but witnessed the fruits of their labor evaporate like water off the Vegas Strip sidewalk in July. The banks gaffed off all the risks to the investor, homeowner and taxpayer and rewarded themselves with fat profits.

If this were not America where the people have become sheeple, there would have been mobs with rope in the streets, but alas, we are all nothing more than toothless pirates, a once mighty nation now a sad and onerous disgrace.

You are responsible for youself, if you are not doing well look in the mirror.

PS it was government that manipulated RE and banks into the ground with stupid requirements like having to make loans to people who did not qualify and could not pay it back. SEE Barney Frank.

As soon as the social programs are withdrawn to only care for the elderly and disabled (as they should) you will see others who are not deserving doing the protesting and rioting for the treasury.
Work for it!
This mentality has gotten so bad we have a term invented for it, "Entitlement Mosters".

Just want to point out that having a good work ethic is not the exclusive purview of conservatives. And when you get down to it, what costs this country more -- Welfare for the poor? Or corporate welfare and welfare for the rich?

Just about everyone participating in this ginormous thread paid more in taxes this year than GE. Most of us paid a higher percentage of income in taxes than the average billionaire.

Stepehen King writes it better than I can (what a surprise). I think this should be required reading for every taxpayer: Stephen King: Tax Me, for F@%&

I'd love to jump in on this one as it is my favorite subject (politics) but alas this is not the political forum. Truth be told though, everyone see's truth as it aligns itself to their political persuasion. The only commonality that we share is that we (the majority) have had to suffer the consequences, even though we did everything right, because some did everything wrong.

It's just we assign that blame sometimes differently.

I'm not so sure about that anymore. The budget problem is so bad that *no spending* is off the table IMHO, and I used to think differently. Defense related industries have good paying jobs that will be lost. It is sad, but necessary.

And, of course, the number one thing that has to happen is that public sector pensions must be replaced with 401K-style savings.

I disagree. Unlike the USA, long ago China realized it was about economics. They "won" the economic war with the USA. The evidence: so much of everything we buy is actually manufactured in China. Intellectual property that the USA is still great at (e.g., software, music, movies & TV, etc) is stolen with impunity.

Money stifles human progress on earth. It acts as a barrier to freedom and well being and discourages collaboration. It upholds inequality and blocks technology from being deployed for the benefit of all. We could feed and house everyone on the planet but don't, why? Because of ownership.
