$850/month for home owners association fees. Ridiculous or not?

Too much for my blood. That's only $60 more that my mortgage on a $175K loan. I can't see what service you can get for that much money.
But that's just me.

If I had an extra $850 a month, I'd buy another house and rent it out.

Anyone have an idea what % of short sales, with prices that approximate the market value ie not the stupid ones, are being approved by lenders?

And even lower in some situations.

I am purchasing a house in Spanish Trail for exactly $10,000 less than it sold for in March 2000. Moreover, it has been substantially updated/remodeled since that time.

Woohoo! Now I'll actually be able to afford one in the future, out of college! The bubble was getting ridiculous.

Heard this one before both in a movie and for the last 6 months in the LV housing market. Both turned out to be fraudulant.
