I dont was to sound ignorant, but ,,,,

I have never been to Henderson NV. I will not make any kind of assumption or judgment.

All criteria aside, I know this sounds vague and I do not deny that it is, but I am trying to get an idea of what kind of town/city Henderson is exactly. I understand the weather, climate, scenery etc. I know where it is. But I guess what I am asking for is if people can simply give me a short list of most comparable cities in other states. After watching videos and reading on it a bit, i get the feeling that it may be similar to the Chandler/Gilbert AZ area in terms of types of businesses and infrastructure, progression, public education, health care etc. ?

I have an easier time understanding something when people give direct comparisons. Does not have to be spot on or exact specs. But just a general idea of what you feel it is most like. I am most familiar with ares in Colorado, Minnesota, Texas, Florida, The Carolinas, Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia and the midwest. So any solid comparisons would be great.

And also.... do you like Henderson? It seems a bit generic to me from what i see and read online, but as I mentioned .... I have no clue so dont take that as an educated opinion.

It's just another "town" within the Las Vegas area. It's all pretty much the same. Some nice areas, some not so nice.
Vegas is just a big bowl surrounded by mountains in the middle of the desert. Don't get me wrong, I like it and have chosen to live there.
Some areas in Las Vegas are higher elevation (3,000 feet), some are low (south east Henderson at 1,600 feet).
It makes a difference in how hot it can get. Unless you live in far outlying areas (like way up north), it takes about the same amount of time to get to The Strip if that matters.
I'm no expert, but that's my take on it. I'm trying to decide where I want to live there. I like Summerlin, the Northwest and some areas of Henderson. Lots of options.

But Henderson is closer to airport than Summerlin, if you that matters to you.

It's all Clark County. Anyone saying different is peddling elitism.

Henderson is a full-service incorporated city in Clark County. Unlike most of the Las Vegas valley, they have their own independent services (Police/Fire/Parks & Rec/Utilities, etc) along with an independent mayor & council. Personally, I prefer being part of an incorporated area in clark county, but I know others feel differently.

Its anytown, suburbia, US really. It has better spots and worse spots just like everywhere in the valley. Most of the development on the western/southern part of Henderson is newer like post 2000.

It seems a lot like Mesa, AZ to me, with the added entertainment of the casinos, and not so many country western bars. It’s a middle class desert suburb.
