Even worse than the other guy - please stay in California.

Got back from Vegas: like Planet Venus with hot blow torched winds blowing from the south in the afternoons/evenings. Still over 100 degrees well into night. Last day, very cloudy and dark but still over 105. It's very warm/hot in the summer, very expensive and sleazy. Lots of traffic. Good part: pay is good and lots of entertainments Now, I get where they get this hot and thin dry Volcan weather in one of the Star Trek Episode which Captain Kirk fought with his life against Mr. Spock: bring in the "Ahn voon!"

Interesting to know. Which school district do you teach now, CCSD?

Where exactly did you go in Vegas? Did you go outside the Strip and Downtown? How many days were you there?

This sounds a lot like the guy who spent a couple days in downtown Reno and pronounced the entire city a s***hole.

My question to OP is where else you are thinking about moving to and what do you like to do? You prefer big city, small town, suburbs, what? Prefer hot or cold?

Same with operas and symphonies, if the tickets weren't selling, the shows would not go on.
You imply that operas and symphonies pay for themselves from ticket sales. In fact, they are heavily subsidized.
