You're using a straw argument that collapses in a mild breeze. Save your hot air.

You should volunteer downtown as I have during meal times. It is a very humbling experience although I would not do it for the time being considering the pandemic. This mayor of Vegas, is something else, she likes to run her mouth. Glad her husband got fired under the LVCVA, his non-existent position was created just for him by LVCVA when he was termed out of office. Talked about corruption.

Why is it her responsibility?

Why does the left constantly want someone else to take care of them?

Take care of your own issue.

Want to avoid a virus? Stay home in a bubble.

Want to potentially get a virus? Go outside. Choice is yours either way.

I want to go outside and run my businesses. I don't think you or anyone else has the right to shut me down because YOU don't want to keep yourself inside.

It's currently roughly double Swine Flu, but several times less than multiple earlier pandemics.

Those are legitimate questions and you'll have to ask Carolyn Goodman what her plans are.

You may scoff at the temporary shelter setup for the homeless displaced from Catholic Charities due to infection within the shelter, but there are plenty of places(in fact, the majority) who do absolutely nothing for the homeless.

It's been put to you before... if you have such strong feelings for the plight of the homeless, why not drive downtown, pick a few up, and host them in your own home?

Again, you're dodging the question I asked. I asked why the plight of an extreme minority of people matters more to you than 3.19 Million others who stand to lose their livelihoods over this shutdown?

She wants to open her city and go against the Governor and medical professionals who I'm sure knows more than her. What are her contingency plans because right now even the Federal Government does not know how to handle this pandemic.

"Strawman argument
A straw man is a form of argument and an informal fallacy based on giving the impression of refuting an opponent's argument, while actually refuting an argument that was not presented by that opponent."

Courtesy of Google.

I didn't pose an argument. I asked a question.

- Trannies

And I'm not saying these people shouldn't have a voice and shouldn't be cared for.

What about the other 3.19 Million people in Nevada who are going to lose their entire livelihoods over this thing? Why don't they matter?

Why does an entire society need to be made to collapse for the benefit of 80 homeless on Cashman field, 20 trannies, and 130something medical patients?

I just don't get the priorities here.

Agreed. I had an entire response typed out and realized it didn't matter. I just go back to my previous reply that people see the world differently. Neither is inherently right or wrong.

But to answer your question: Maybe some people value human life differently than you and have different values.

Even if someone flipped the proverbial switch I don't think the Strip hotels are going to be overly busy. It's going to take some time for people to feel safe enough to visit here.

I do think the end of the month should be enough time to let local businesses to open. The locals need stuff, like a haircut. And some of us (most?) want to go out and enjoy a meal at a restaurant or a local casino, but you have to feel safe, and some people will be skeptical. Anything that opens up will have a slow go of it at first, but the local businesses need to get it going again.
