The September CEDIA show in Denver is cancelled this year too. I sell AV equipment for Home Theaters, so this is hurting my business. Covid has already made it hard to get products people want to buy, lots of things are back ordered for months. Can't get it, no sales, no income. Pretty hard to debut new AV products if you can't hear and see what they sound and look like. I went to the Harman (JBL/Revel) booths at CES this year and was able to hear and see all the new products I missed at CEDIA because I couldn't make it to the show in Denver. Double whammy coming up.

Every year my husband goes to CES. The past two times he said he felt like there wasn't anything really new or exciting. When they come back I hope its better than ever.

Also, when Google canceled their event in February I knew we had problems. I told my husband from now on pay attention to what Google and companies like them do. Now, Google is WFH until next summer.

I agree that it will be back in some form but IMHO, it will be smaller with fewer attendees. I expect my industry's big show will be cancelled in 2021.

I don't see that happening.

It completely depends on how quickly they can get back to live entertainment IMO. With casinos popping up all over the place and sports betting now becoming legal in more states, the one thing still unique to Vegas is the sheer amount of live entertainment options available in a single place.

It will be crucial to get big acts locked back in once the virus begins to fade.

Las Vegas is in a serious trouble. Convention business will never be the same. Virtual and online meetings, seminars and conferences are the future. Corporations are learning now that they don’t have to spend all that money for overpriced Las Vegas room rates, especially during CES. Remember, CES was already complaining last year that room rates are extremely overpriced and some attendants couldn’t afford it.
