And one of those "business decisions" may very well be selling off the Venetian, Palazzo, and Sands Expo. A Goldstein-run Sands may just decide to leave Las Vegas and stake their future in Asia (where most of their profits have been for the past decade or more).

His wife believes Trump deserves a book of Trump in the Bible. She’ll continue funding whatever her and her husband was into prior to his death.

If they get their price. Advisors are sure to tell her and the family that if you don't get close to the $6bn asking price it's just better to do share tenders and make yourselves minority owners. What I think does change is they might reconsider pushing hard for casinos in Texas or NYC. I don't see them having the appetite for the bottomless pit of lobbying money to win the right to spend $5bn or more before they earn their first dollar. They already backed out of Japan, these other markets were just Sheldon's efforts to have one last big legacy win before passing.

I think that underestimates the profit potential of casinos. They really are money machines. Only about 8-11% of EBIDTA for Las Vegas Sands actually comes from Las Vegas.

The great opportunities are largely gone. What new opportunities come are weighed down by what the previous locations have made, regulators and the competitive market are going to make sure the return profiles are a lot lower.

How much of gambling profits in Macau are actually from gambling, and not from money laundering? The Chinese government has been turning the screw. If they continue to tighten it, how profitable will Macau remain?

A previous poster didn't think his wife was as fanatical as her husband. Ever heard of the PBT, Power Behind The Throne? And an old, old saying, oftentimes very true: You never say No to a wife!

True in some cases, but not in this one. Its been very transparent for decades what each member of the Adelson family is interested in and where their skills are.

Well its not quite money laundering, but you're close. Macau has long been the way to make inconvertible money into something kind of convertible. If the government truly turned off this spigot then look out below for housing prices in a lot of cities as well because the buying real estate and businesses overseas game is 100s of times the level of what gets converted out of Macau's junket and casino business. I don't think though it will ever get turned off completely, much of the CCP's money-making comes from being paid to look the other way while this goes on.
