Hi got a very specific question, anyone know a good surgeon for retinal detachment surgery? I don't have the problem yet but I am very nearsighted, so I can get detachment very easily, and once it happens I have to get it fixed RIGHT AWAY. So I am just doing some homework now to find out reputable retinal detachment surgeons so when it happens I can just go right in.

Did a search on yelp but I think they are mostly ophthalmologists

anyone had the surgery done? would love to hear your experiences and tips. Thanks for your help.

I had a retinal tear fixed in one eye and have an ongoing wet macular deterioration in the other. So for some years I have gotten a shot in the WMD eye every month or so. It is pretty well stabilized now but I will get it checked this week. Doctor is..

Jayne is very good and will provide a sound diagnosis. He will then refer you to a suitable expert if it is not within his scope...that is what I like about him.

Especially if I feared future problems I would get set up with Jayne then if the SHTF He will jump in and get you going in the right direction.

I've been a patient of Dr Jayne's forever and so far everything has been great. But on the evening of Thanksgiving 2011 I thought for sure I was having a retinal detachment. So I called his office, his answering service got him right on the phone and he offered to interrupt his TG dinner to come in and dilate my eyes even though he knew I was most likely having a classic ophthalmic artery migraine (which I was). Everything turned out fine but I'll never forget that he was available to me at one of the worst possible times - he could have just told me to go to the ER.
