Americans are just too busy with everything else, who has the time to go grocery shopping weekly, if not every darn day!

Plus if we went everyday, what would the freezer companies do with their stock of million cubic foot feezers? They would eliminate jobs and that is bad. So do your part and support American industry. I NEED my 40 pounds of ice cream and my 80 pound bags of Texas Toast. I also need a place to store it. American excess is a wonderful thing, don't waste it. On second thought, go right ahead and waste it. That is, after all, the American way.

In Italy, there's always a "piazza" or common area in the little villages and towns that dot the countryside, people set up farm stands in these markets...and sell their produce, pasta's, breads, meats and fish, baked goods..every day.

Talk about EVERYTHING being fresh!

I've tried the Wednesday farmers market at Bruce Trent Park/Rampart Blvd...and it's not bad. People bring in their produce and some baked items from Cali....I've gotten some good stuff there.

Back to the topic of Fresh n' Easy. I think its a good idea for those who want to get something fresh and easy to make for that night or even 2 nights. Whats also nice is that there are no long lines or madhouse parking lots. I guess only time will tell if this store sticks around and makes a profit. I know they spent quite a bit of cash

And every week they mail out $5.00 coupons. When you go and make your purchase they hand you another one.

I just ate a Fresh & Easy Shrimp and Salmon shish kabob tonight. They do have some different prepared items that I like.

I dont like those self check outs though. But there is always some one there to jump right in and help you.

I love the self checkouts..but like you said DesertSun, there is always someone there helping to bag or ring things up for you if you don't want to do it yourself.
I like to bag my own things a certain way, so i'm always fending them off so i can do it myself.

I tried their freshly prepared food yesterday, the mandarin chicken, and thought it was pretty good. Just that the portion was a bit small, but heck thats the best way to lose weight.

A little off the subject (I apologize) but does anybody know if the Wal-Mart near Horizon Ridge and Eastern in Henderson is a Super Walmart (selling food)?

Carol and I were completely underwhelmed with Fresh & Easy. It felt like we were in a third world country...or England.

Based on you folk's opinions maybe we'll take another look...but then you are the same people who list the most blah restaurants as the best in town.
