Looking for an apartment that caters to those on Social Security. Need the location, exact address if possible. Or if another website or agency would be more appropriate to contact, that information would be most helpful. My son and his wife are expecting in February, and I want to relocate there to be with them and my first grandchild! Any help is appreciated. Stardust.

Geez, I really don't know of any apartments that cater to Social Security recipients.

Perhaps you might try one of the private retirement places? Although they are a bit expensive, they are all inclusive...providing your meals, transportation to stores, etc....

Thumbs up Housing for SSI recipients

There is a Habitat Company that caters to social security recipients in one of their building called East Park Apartments located on the west side.

I'm confused as to your question. I understand you are on s.s, as many others are, but that doesn't mean you have to live in a special place. Is there something I'm missing here or are you asking for information on low income subsidized housing?

Get an Apartment Guide, For Rent, etc. and look for Affordable Housing properties (those with income limits). The rents are lower and they will probably accept Section 8.

Don't know where you are from or what books you read but any of those books that are published where I live only feature some of the nicest quality apartments (aka priciest). I've never seen any that even mention Affordable/income limits.

Good luck getting on Section 8 though, around here you can only get it if you've been in a homeless shelter more than 6 months or your house burned down etc etc.

I am very ill and am looking into moving to Vegas, where I have relatives to help watch my children when I have to be hospitalized 2-3 times a month for 2-5 days each stay. My family down in Vegas live in age restricted communties, so I would not be able to live with my children there. I am looking for affordable place to live, because my income is through Social Security Disabilty and I have children to take care of. Any ideas where to look would be greatly appreciated.
