This may be geared more towards the people in NY, but others may know the answer.

Ok, I'm from NY and moving to Las Vegas in a few years, so good food is important to me. My question is, does the Las Vegas area carry Boars head brand coldcuts? I know it sounds weird, but I'm just curious. It doesn't take into account if I move there or not, just wondering. Anyone know?

Also, are there any NY-style pizza or bagels there that are comparable to the pizza/bagels in NY?

Boars head brands are available. Whether bagels or pizza are of ny quality is a subject of much debate. You will have to decide for yourself. Note that most NYers can't decide what is a good NY bagel either.

What do you mean, can't decide what is a good NY bagel?

Put three NYers in a room with two bagels. You will get at least four opinions.

Dude you are going to miss that East Coast food you can get at any corner. For the most part, Vegas has foo foo food. There is good food here, but it is not around the corner.

I live on Long island, not the city. I'm within a 5 minute drive of everything, but not walking distance.

It's good to know there's some good food there. We were taken to an italian restaurant by family friends from Long Island, and I was impressed by the eggplant parmesian I had.

I don't really like veal, and I know dunkin donuts isn't there, but that's no big deal since I don't go there that much.

thanks for the info so far :-)

Not sure if they are "NY" bagels, but we like the bagels at Bagel Cafe on Buffalo just south of the Summerlin Expwy. We have a couple of pizza places we like, but they are not NY style. Aureleo's is a Chicago pizzaria that has two restaurants in the area, one on Cheyenne and the other south in Henderson on Eastern. And Settebello's a genuine Naples (as in Italy) style pizzaria. Hope this helps.

Brooklyn Bagels and Big Apple Bagels are a lot like NY bagels. They have locations all over the valley (mainly SE).
