I have spent many hours on this forum just reading and really like the community on here and how you support one another. I visited Las Vegas in 2001,2002,2008,2009 and now have moved here as of May.

Curious what you can tell me about my current location of 89106. Supposedly I have a one in seven chance of being the victim of crime over the course of a year. Also would like to know if there are apartments that don't have roaches.

You have landed in a rather rough zip. We have rules on the west and north- northwest sides of town. For Las Vegas, you want west of Rainbow. Closer to the 215, the better.

For North Las Vegas ( you are bordering the grittier part of old NLV ) you want to go North of Craig and west of The I-15.

If you follow those tried and true board guidelines, you should be able to locate safe, roach-free accommodations. welcome to the board.

Thank you for the feedback. That is probably why I have a good deal on the room I am renting. It is a very spacious ranch style home. So far only one roach since I moved in on 5-26. Too many dogs in the neighborhood IMO. I am far from racist, but not too many Midwestern white boys in this neighborhood.
Two of my roomies are african american and they are quiet and respectful.

Supposedly there is a crips gang named after Vegas Heights. I don't walk around after dark and I have not had any problems in the daytime. Mario's westside market is a little pricey though. I also choose to save money by riding the RTC around town. I have seen many interesting and colorful people at the bus stops and on the bus, especially around Las Vegas Blvd. and Lake Mead.

I wonder whatever happened with Lexusman on this board and also sorry to hear that aqualung has had some health problems. I enjoyed spending many hours reading his and LVdrunk's posts and fascinating life events in Las Vegas.

Can anyone recommend a decent neighborhood close to Nellis AFB? Ideally I would like to find a deal on a studio apartment. No rush though. Thank you for welcoming me to the group.

Interesting aside - I did some research and my address within 89106 is technically still the city of Las Vegas and not North Las Vegas.

All 89106 addresses are not in NLV. Either city or county. An NLV addresses starts with 890

I found out when I tried to submit a complaint to NLV about my neighbor having a rooster and was told it was not their jurisdiction. Thank you for confirming.

I'm going to start a gofundme for you to leave Las Vegas.

There's 50 states and thousands of cities for you to choose from.

Apparently it's more fun to whine like a child and harass CD posters than it is to make an effort to leave a place he obviously despises. Reeks of laziness.

I'll donate to the fund, but only if the guaranteed location is Syria.

She actually likes it here. Very fond and protective of the SW side of town. Sometimes provides some nice pictures of that area.

She has had some bad luck and it has colored her thinking.

We had an 86 Supra targa top. It was great, but ate tires like crazy. It constantly picked up rocks or nails requiring replacement. I think the tires were 5 rib Gatorbacks specific to that vehicle. The soft rubber compound would make it so rocks about an inch or two in diameter would stick and perforate the belts.
