She said he was very uncomfortable, kept switching his wallet from pocket to pocket and worrying about her purse and then told her his idea had been a bad one and he was very worried about her super expensive car parked in a garage.
I went to First Friday last night and had a GREAT time. We had drinks and dinner at Firefly* in the Plaza before walking the Experience to get to the bars on East Fremont. Awesome drinks at Downtown Cocktail Room and Vanguard before walking back to our car at Plaza around 2am.

The Fremont Experience was full of perfomers and revelers. Everybody seemed to be having a great time and nobody caused any trouble as far as I saw. My only complaint is the the sidewalks outside The Griffen were full of hipsters in skinny jeans and ironic T-shirts...hipster overload.

You friend and her boyfriend seem very closeminded and too scared to have a good time. Perhaps they'd be better off at the manufactured Town Square with it's fake grass and corporate branding. That guy sounds like a complete tool and made himself a target by continually fumbling with his wallet and purse.

He gets earned income credit because of this which is nothing but welfare IMO. I am seriously starting to HATE liberals. I make just under $20,000 a year so I am the working poor. Realistically, the scumbag liberals like to take from the RESPONSIBLE poor, middle class, and rich to give it to the irresponsible garbage bottom feeders.

LVD, you pay because the rich don't. Your coworkers' EIC is nothing compared to the tax loopholes enjoyed by the rich and corporations. Their patrons are the right wing Republicans. It's one of their major platforms.

Also, let's not forget that taxes are the way a MARKET ECONOMY supports ALL services: lights, roads, sewers, emergency services, schools, etc. Many "Free Market" advocates neglect to acknowledge this little fact. They want All Play, No Pay.

Then in 2006 when Democrats gained control of both houses they tried to smash through as much liberal legislation as they could because they KNEW the public wouldnt go for most of it, and then in 2008 America got a combo of Obama, Reid, and Pelosi there was no stopping the Democrats agenda which IMO has gone way too far to the left

The Dems lost control of the house, and lost their super-majority in the senate (I was SHOCKED that Harry Reid won again). Leave it to the Republicans to straighten this country out.

What we need are whole new political parties. Its been either Democrat or Republican since the civil war. 150 years of the same

What has changed is the parties themselves. Republicans used to be considered the liberals who supported civil rights, and Democrats were considered the old fashioned racist southerners. Whereas now, Republicans are considered "Racists" "Fascists" and are against abortion, and everything Democrats consider to be "good"

I've grown so sick of politics that I no longer want involvement with the Democratic Party (Im a registered Democratic voter) but I want no part of the Republicans either, due to the social stigma my generation has attached to them

George Carlin always used to talk about how people would say "If you dont vote, you have no right to complain" In logic, it is really the other way around, if you vote, YOU have no right to complain as YOU were the one who helped elect whatever clowns we have in office

Ironically, the economic policies of the Republicans have been the primary force in the ecnomic downfall of Las Vegas. Deregulation and protection of Big Business and Wall Street will never help anyone but Big Business and Wall Street. Socialism has become a dirty word, but what it means in essence is that you don't want 10% of the population holding 90% of the wealth in your country. That is unhealthy.

Oh, wait a minute, that's exactly what is happening here in the USA!

Hmmmmm, maybe that would explain the bad situation we are in now.

Naaah, that can't be it.

It must be those Agin' Us people that are not With Us!! Them's the bad guys!!

Why shouldn't a company or an individual be allowed to make millions and billions of dollars while they ship jobs overseas causing higher unemployment but higher profits?!?!?!?! Dagnabit, it's the American Way!!!!!!!!!!

Why shouldn't we bail out Wall Street but cut school budgets, senior services, and child protective services?!?!?!?!!? Every man for himself, it's what a patriot believes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh,oh, I must be a Red Commie if I'm having these impure thoughts!!!!

Excuse me while I go waterboard myself and restore my faith in capitalism!!!!!!!!

Gore Vidal wisely summed up this country many years ago: This country only has one political party, one part swings to the left, one part to the right.

Technically speaking, we need a second party.

Republicans are merely seeking $100B in cuts? That's like cutting a child's allowance from $10 a week to $9.50 a week.

Interestingly, I just ran across this article:

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/11/07/ny...e&ref=nyregion

The interesting part to me, is the part where they tell us she receives Social Security (which she obviously paid for) but does not qualify for food stamps or Medicaid.

I don't care what side of the political spectrum you live on, it's just wrong that a person who has worked for so many years has to live like that. We have no respect for our elderly and the non-wealthy in this country. It has become a dog eat dog society where "he who has the most toys wins" and ********* if you didn't play that game.

I have said it before and I will say it again: One of the saddest sights I have ever seen was the first time we drove around the new developments in Las Vegas and saw the wanton greed of developers just shoe horning houses in everywhere with no regard for quality of life.

We all have to wake up and start taking responsibility for our tacit approval of the Greed Machine that has taken over this country. It used to be called the military-industrial complex, but sadly no one takes the time to read history books anymore or study our recent history, so they contunue to thrive while the majority of people agonize over how to make the next rent payment or buy gas for the car or food.

President of the United States (and former General of the Army) Dwight D. Eisenhower used the term in his Farewell Address to the Nation on January 17, 1961:
A vital element in keeping the peace is our military establishment. Our arms must be mighty, ready for instant action, so that no potential aggressor may be tempted to risk his own destruction... This conjunction of an immense military establishment and a large arms industry is new in the American experience. The total influence — economic, political, even spiritual — is felt in every city, every statehouse, every office of the federal government. We recognize the imperative need for this development. Yet we must not fail to comprehend its grave implications. Our toil, resources and livelihood are all involved; so is the very structure of our society. In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals so that security and liberty may prosper together.

Perhaps the Of the people, By the people, For the people Party?

Although, I was a big fan of the "The Rent Is Too Damn High" Party here in the Big Expensive Apple.
The Rent Is Too Damn High Party

BTW, haven't seen Gore Vidal referenced too often lately! Refreshing!

I enjoyed that George Carlin video, thanks Davie. George was a funny guy who delivered some serious topics in some of the funniest ways.

I know I broadcast my life too much but this post would be much better done in a DM to 007 license to sell IMO. There is no reason to put this in the chat forum.
