Hello. My husband is in the military and we have been assigned to Las Vegas. We are having the military move us and store our furniture, appliances, and such until we can find a place to live. My question is: do we need to worry about our stuff melting in storage while we look for a place, or will it be okay for a few weeks?

Thanks!

With the exception of maybe candles, everything should be fine. As far as I know, wood/fabric/etc. don't melt. If you're really concerned (or own a good deal of low grade plastic items), you might want to look into a climate controlled facility.

I think you would only have to worry if your storage unit was in Death Valley. So far, nothing has melted, not even candles.

LOL funny.

You know this thread kind of reminds me of what my brother used to ask me about traveling through the desert: "Don't your tires melt out there??" He would ask. lol

Lol I think people that have never been out here think we live in an oven. Nothings ever melted in the facility that my hubby managed but there is things like art work and antiques that should be in a climate controlled facility.
