I'm trying to avoid something to cheesy (or way too adult) but feel like I should do the show thing. I'm thinking Matt Goss, Jubilee?? I'm open to suggestions.

In terms of an off-strip (we are spending one night at the Golden Nugget too) I'm trying to decide between the Dam, Valley of Fire/Red Rocks. Again, I'm open to suggestions.

I appreciate your help!

This is the best time of year to visit Red Rock Canyon, in my opinion. And entry fees will be going up May 1, which should provide even more incentive to go now, especially for locals. It's gorgeous there year-round, but even more so before the temperatures hit triple digits. It's well worth the trip.

Check out the Blue Man Group. The Golden Nugget just opened a new tower and the restaurant by the front desk looks nice, Chart House. I have not dined in the restaurant but the place is always packed whenever we pass by it Downtown. Grotto is a good Italian restaurant at the Golden Nugget.

I should add that we are staying on the strip for the first 2 nights.

Blue Man Group is good clean fun, any of the Cirque shows, except Zoomanity if you are easily embarrassed, Phantom of the Opera is supposed to be better here as far as effects (I'm not a fan of musicals but I enjoyed it...once), Jersey Boys was great (Walk like a man, sing like a girl). It's historically interesting too even if it is near history. Personally, I think everyone should see "Jubilee", as it is the last of the big stage productions that we're famous for ...well actually, we stole all those shows (Follies Bergere, Vive Le Girls, The Lido) from France, but we're famous for them too.

Valley of Fire if you have some time, Red Rock Canyon if you're tight for time. You won't see any petroglyph's at Red Rock unless you know where to look. There are thousands of them at Valley of Fire, as well as many other ancient relics. And you can stop at the Lost City Museum in Overton before or after seeing the VoF, and see ancient Anasazi ruins.

I love Mt Charleston. Nice trails, too. Very beautiful but high altitude.

One thing I've never really thought of is that what you find at many of the places mentioned, you can find similar things elsewhere. But there is only one Hoover Dam. I've always enjoyed the tour down inside it, and the "new" visitors' center is pretty nice too.

There is only one Grand Canyon too. So if you can you should try to see that. It's the one thing everyone should see.

Nope, not easily embarrassed and I'll go see whatever is great (I don't get the Blue Man attraction, however). I may have to hit Jubilee- thanks!

Well, all the Cirque shows are the best we have to offer IMHO, and Zoomanity is the risqué one. They are all excellent, but Love is probably the best one. I was really impressed with Jersey Boys. Didn't care for Phantom but I hear others raving about it. I just don't like opera/musicals that much, even though Jersey Boys and Love are about music of the two groups concerned. I think Jubilee is like the Grand Canyon...everyone should see it.
