There has to be a market for investors to open anything. If someone thinks there's a market, put up your money and take a chance. But never invest a dime without doing a market survey to see if it really is needed and wanted. Just because it's in other towns doesn't mean it will work here. It might not be working that well elsewhere and won't last.

In this terrible economy I am sure it would do quite well. I know that if they opened a Grocery Outlet here it would be bye bye Smiths for me.

I think the 99 Cents Only Store carries a lot of salvage type merchandise. I sometimes find high end personal care items there for a dollar. There's one in my neighborhood that I check out frequently.

But I agree Las Vegas needs this store!

There might have been one on Bonanza. Have you resided here long enough to remember the TV commercials on channel five with Jan and her brother Rocky before she married Fletcher Jones Jr.

The one and only. I seem to remember Jan and Rocky both holding puppies and kittens while hawking can goods and beer specials on their weekly commercials.

That does sound familiar mojave, man, what humble beginnings she came from...

I wonder what year Thriftymart closed down?

You'd be correct, that would be the closest thing to a salvage store here in town.
