So far much of my reading here has led me to believe Green Valley, Anthem/Seven hills are the best areas in Henderson for families. Can anyone tell me what makes these places desireable over other areas, and also any other great areas to add in the mix would be great!

We like good schools, parks, shopping, bike/jog trails, safe neighborhoods and are looking for homes in the 3500 sf or 250-350k range. Larger backyard a plus.

I think they are just located in areas that cater to those who want to grow their family. Henderson is a "Playful City" and recognized nationally as a great city.

With 30 or so parks, a great fiscal government, and various master planned communities, you really can't go wrong with the areas you listed.

If you are looking for a master community, check out some that are there, but beware that Association and additional monthly fees are associated to develop the community.

Besides that, I would definitely try the Seven Hills area. At one point, a $250,000 home was going for $400-500K. If you can afford it, it is a bargain right now!

Default Anthem

Anthem is great, but it's a 55+ community. HOA fees are about $65 a month for a 1800 sq ft home.

Nope... Sun City Anthem is age restricted as is Solera.

There is lots of other places up thataway that are not. Coventry and Anthem Country Club come immediately to mind and there are others.

Ah, that (55+) would certainly throw a wrench in things. It is so frustratingly difficult househunting from afar .

Does Anthem Highlands fall under the 55+ community? I really don't know if that's the name of a development, a neighborhood, or what...

Anthem highlands is not age restricted and is a great development. Prices are ridiculously low right now since it is the last development in Amthem. A new school is opening this year and has an amazing principal that came from Lamping (which was the top rated school in this area). Also, there is a new mega park right up the street next to the school.

I love Seven Hills so far. From what i have seen so far 250k would buy something quite nice. In my development the Terraces 1200 sq ft homes are going in the 130k range right now.
