I've been living down here in Chile and have been dating a girl for quite a while. She's going to be coming to stay with me as a tourist for a while also. Now that Chileans do not need a visa to come to the United States, is anyone familiar with how long they are allowed to stay and with what frequency they are allowed to come?
The VWP allows for a stay of up to 90 days. There is no restriction on how many times it can be used but frequent stays of long duration will alert CBP and promote their investigation. If you go to the first "sticky" on this forum you'll find the information you need on the USCIS website but that's the bottom line.
Now that the US has dropped the requirement for citizens of Chile to obtain a formal tourist visa from a US diplomatic office prior to travelling to the US (which used to cost $160 USD) - the good news is that Chile dropped the $160 "reciprocity fee" that US citizens had to pay when entering Chile as tourists.

Good news except that I paid mine and it is good for a long time. I want a refund.
In Chile, I'm able to do a border run every 3 months and extend my time just by going to Peru or Argentina.
Is that possible on the VWP? It is a very quick ride to Canada from where I am in the US.
Intercontinental borders do not count. Rule of thumb - 90 days in, 90 days out. Be prepared for secondary questioning.
