They don't have to fly all the way over here (USA).
They can do the same by going to any of the US territories "nearby"....Saipan seems to be the preferred choice.
As long as they don't come to sponge off the system I don't care. Why they'd do this does concern me though. Ironically the king of Thailand was born in the USA when his parents attended Harvard I believe.
Birthright citizenship needs to be re-interpreted the way the writer's of the 14th intended. At least on parent needs to be a citizen of this country in order for a newborn to qualify.

^^^ this. The Chinese in this article are paying for everything themselves, essentially buying an American citizenship for their kid. There's something really wrong with this picture. To me, being an American citizen means I have some loyalty to my country and identify myself as an American. If someone is buying citizenship for convenience sake, it cheapens what it actually means to be a citizen.
To answer your question...no, they should not. This may very well be classified as the perfect example of the 'unintended consequences' of the 14th Amendment which legally and constitutionally allows and protects the baby (and for all practical purposes, its parents) born on American soil. It was never intended as a protocol for automatic citizenship of foreign nationals.
Due to the very best intentions of our American forefathers and the very honorable, conscientious and careful deliberations concerning the 14th Amendment (adopted July 9, 1868), the first sentence in Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution is one of the Reconstruction Amendments (13, 14, & 15) following the Civil War. The pure and original intention was to transform America from "half slave/half free" to a nation where the "blessings of liberty" were extended and guaranteed to slaves and their descendants alike.
The Civil Rights Act of 1866 had already granted U.S. citizenship to everyone born in America and "not subject to any foreign power", however, the 39th Congress wanted a ratified constitutional amendment in order to protect any simple majority within a future Congress from repealing the principle of the underlying Citizenship Clause.
As the OP Costa, what do YOU think about foreign nationals coming to America for the sole purpose of giving birth and by virtue of being born on American soil, be an American citizen?

Dual citizenship? "Better opportunities", I don't know but perhaps you could ask your friend what their motivation was. Sometimes perception is everything.

Dual as I know not offering any more in EU, not every country most of them need to give up one. I really wish if I will see her again after they gone to USA for birth I have not hear a word hope they still alive. Might be some strong reason.
