We moved from the Lehigh Valley to AZ about 14 months ago. Sorry to hear its not working out for you, but can relate to missing the family. My wife takes care of our children, one who has special needs, and she has a tough time with that same issue.

Oh, in that case, if you are just renting for a year or 2, then school district isn't a factor. That opens up a lot of choices. When your child is of school age, your options become more limited, IMO.

I agree that you could move twice, but it's so much nicer if you can find your place and just stay there. Also, the kind of people that care about good schools are probably the ones you want to live near and have your young child grow up with. Of my three kids, only one of them went to HS with the same kids he went to pre-school with. And the parents of a couple of those kids are my best friends.

How about the garden apartments in Macungie/Lower Mac across from Walmart? I don't remember the name, but I had heard they were pretty nice.
