Hi everyone.

earlier I posted about looking for a place to move and buy a house. My job can transfer me to either Easton or Whitehall branch if I can start within 2 months, otherwise I will have to wait for another opening which doesn't happen a lot.

I need recommendations where to rent. What are some really good and safe apartment complexes? I am looking for under $1k for a 2 bedroom apartment, but 1 bedroom will be good enough if its decent size and in safe area.

Easton, Allentown, Bethlehem, Whitehall are some choices, open to other suggestions too.

Another questions I want to add is, how are the utilities there? Currently I pay for gas about $20 a month and $200-300 per month on electric.

Where are you currently moving from?

There are quite a few apartment complexes in Whitehall ... but none that I'd want to live in. There's a nice complex in Schnecksville called Sand Spring Apartments. I have a friend who has a 2 bedroom there with central air and her own washer/dryer and she pays less than $1000 a month. All electric, though.

There's a nice, newer complex in the West End of Allentown, across the street from Wegmans, at Tilghman St & Springhouse Rd. The name is Trexler Park. Don't know the cost of rent, but I know it had completely new buildings put up in the past decade or so.

There's some "luxury" apartments in the Upper Macungie area of Breinigsville, near the intersection of Routes 100 & 222, by Jaindl Elementary School. I believe they are called Parkland Park, but don't quote me on that! Built in the last 5 years and have high ceilings, granite counter tops, SS appliances, etc. But I think around $1200 a month.

I don't know much about the Easton area.

In terms of utilities like Internet, you'll most likely only have 1 or 2 choices, most often 1 depending on the area. The Parkland Park apartments I believe get Verizon FIOS, one of the few areas of the Valley where it's available. Other wise it's either Service Electric or RCN for cable (again, it's either one or the other depending on the area), or Verizon DSL.
