Hey all,

I have an interview in Richmond this week and as I have never been to Kentucky at all before this I was wondering if any locals could give me a suggestion as to a place to go, something to check out, a place to eat dinner, anything to get a good feel of the city??? If I end up getting this job I will have to decide if I want to relocate to KY from the Carolinas based on very little first hand experience so I want to make the most of the time that I am up there. For a little background info I am a professional woman in my late 20's.

Thanks!

Welcome to Kentucky and to the forums here.

I really can't answer about Richmond, but Lexington is full of things to do, and great restaurants.
(I am not sure exactly...do you love steaks or are you Vegan? Do you like fun nightlife or a Hike in the woods?
Museums and Library or Movies, Plays and/or a Concert? Are you looking for shopping or want to visit a park?

Lexington Restaurants

In Lexington you might want to take some horse farm tours and visit the Kentucky Horse Park

Richmond is a college town with a good amount of shopping, but it may be less appealing for a young professional. The area is know for arts and crafts and has some good hiking nearby. Where are you coming from in NC? Richmond would be pretty comparable to a Hickory or Burlington. Lexington is comparable to Greensboro or Winston Salem.

I agree with these descriptions, with the clarification that most of the arts and crafts and hiking are in and around Berea, twelve miles south of Richmond.
