I see that you can definitely get more house for your money if you send your kids to Garden Springs or Picadome and live south of Man o' War. When I research it online, I'm a bit underwhelmed by test scores, etc., but I know that is never the whole story.

Does anyone have personal experience with either school? How are the teachers? How are the extra-curriculars? How long a school bus ride is it if you live south of Man o' War? Is it a hassle if you drive your kids? Does it feel safe and nurturing or is it chaotic and impersonal? Any information would be most helpful. If you would like to PM me that's okay, too.

Thanks in advance!

I don't have personal stories to share - but hopefully some will. I would assume that their test scores would be lower than say Stonewall perhaps. That is because both of these elementaries have a much more diverse population. By that, I mean from homes where some have two working parents, one working parent, single parents - a variety of involvement and support at the home level. I moved several years ago (11 1/2) because we were outside Man O War and being redistricted to Picadome. Now, that was only because my kids were already in Stonewall and I didn't want to change them. My kids have had friends who went to GS and Picadome and had very positive experiences. I know that the traffic can be difficult at GS in picking up and delivering by car, but Picadome is so land locked that there can be some crazy traffic situations there too.
