Hi,

I'm new at this and thought this might help both me and my hub a bit. We're getting ready to move to Arkansas from Okinawa (Military) and we've been looking for apartments and rent homes for the past month.. til recently we kind of came across an apartment complex called Chapel Ridge @ Sherwood.. I was just wondering if any of you had any pros and cons of the place. As of right now we're leaning towards it Any info on the area is great too!

- Debbie

Capstone Real Estate operates a few "Chapel Ridge" complexes in Central Arkansas. I would not recommend them. A certain number of apartments in these complexes are set aside as low-income in order for the complex owner to qualify for a particular federal tax credit. By lowering credit, previous rental history, and reference standards in order to lure low-income people to live in the complex, everyone else suffers.

This is true at some of their complexes, but the Chapel Ridge complexes in Sherwood and Jacksonville are fine and are on the level of "The Links" in Sherwood. Now the Chapel Ridge apartments off of Highway 161 in North Little Rock are income-based and are scary! When an apartment complex have to hire 24 hour security guards, then you know there are problems.

According to the Chapel Ridge of Sherwood website, it too has income-based set-asides.

Are these apartments for low income people? Do you have security guards at this complex?

If not the complex, I like the area. Are you going to be at LRAFB? If so Sherwood is between the AFB and the amenities NLR has to offer - McCain Mall, retail, downtown, etc. I don't know anything about the specific complex but I like the area. Sherwood is known as being incredibly safe.
