Everything on hear is how much money/benefits cops make. What about our Nurses? They are in the healthcare field and DO NOT get to carry health insurance into retirement like your cops/teachers.
Now you need AT LEAST Bacheolrs degree. Yes, they get paid JUST "OK" however, they work every minute for there money.
I dont care how smart you are, how much a criminal you are....if you do not have your health, what good is it?
As I posted in another thread, I guess we all have choices.

What about them? Where I live, teachers start around 36k and nurses start around 50k. My friends mom is a nurse and she worked overtime, she made about 80k, so as far as I am concerned they are more than compensated, and btw you need AT LEAST a bachelor's degree to be a teacher as well.
I all I know is that due to the shortage of nurses, they seem to pay them very well. At least the the 3 people I know that have graduated in the past 3-4 years have made great salaries. They all continued their education.
What about them? They're underpaid relative to cops and teachers, but so are people in many fields.
That's not true. Many nurses in NYC and suburbs are very well paid. They usually make much more than nurses in other regions, and a highly experienced nurse can accumulate about 2 months vacation time.
The nursing shortage is because there aren't enough nursing school instructors. Nurses often make more money working the bedside or public health rather than academia.
I don't have a problem with how much money teachers and police officers make. Hopefully higher salaries will make these professions more competitive, the result being that we have better quality teachers and police officers. The only thing that really bugs me is when teachers whine. Not all teachers do this, but I feel like I've met so many teachers, personally and professionally, who have absolutely no concept of what the workplace is actually like for most people. I heard one teacher claim that she has PTSD because her District changed her assignment from 2nd grade to 5th grade. Look, I'm sure it was challenging, but we're all faced with challenges and having to adapt to new things at our jobs. To claim PTSD when you have law enforcement or health care workers who truly see horrible things all the time is just ridiculous.
