Considering moving to Old Bethpage and heard they have a landfill? Anyone live in Old Bethpage? What are the concerns? Do they plan on reusing the land??

we briefly read about it... closed in the 60s I believe? It wasn't recommended that you live within a mile from there, but there's no conclusive evidence (yet) of anything.

It was actually closed in the late 80's early 90's. At one point they wanted to build a incinerator there, but thankfully due to residents concerns it was rejected.

Its on Spagnoli Road, off Round Swamp Road, where the Town of Oyster Bay Dump is...near the campground... The area it is in is light-industrial...not really viewable by residential areas..

Default A map of the Hamlet of Old Bethpage in the Town of Oyster Bay, Nassau County

A map of the Hamlet of Old Bethpage in the Town of Oyster Bay, Nassau County:

The Hamlet of Old Bethpage has a different border than does the "Old Bethpage, NY 11804" postal zone (i.e., a place can have an "Old Bethpage, NY 11804" mailing address and not be in the Hamlet of Old Bethpage and a place can be in the Hamlet of Old Bethpage and have other than an "Old Bethpage, NY 11804" mailing address): places in the Hamlet of Old Bethpage that do not have an "Old Bethpage, NY 11804" mailing address have a "Plainview, NY 1803" and "Farmingdale, NY 11735" mailing address.
