Hi,

Are mother/daughter homes the same as 2 family homes? To make a long story short we moved away from LI back in 1996 but we do not want to raise our children here in Nevada, so my parents said why dony we buy a 2 family home togther since its so pricey to get one on our own. Anyway i would like to know if those two are considered the same?

And these days on LI what do those type homes average in price in a good schhol district in Suffolk county? A safe area to raise a family? We would need at least 4-5 beds 2-3 baths and a basement.

And when looking for these homes on realtor sites what search do we put in?

Default 2 family homes

Do you have a link to these homes? And What do these homes average in price on LI? We are hoping for a 4-5 bed 2.5 baths or more. A full basement. And a good clean safe area to raise children, great schools.

Are the schools in Centereach known to be really safe? Good?

You have to dig a little bit. First toward the right of the home screen on that link, click on "FIND A HOME"
On the next page, select the county you wish to search and then select "Type of Home" -- select House.
CLick on "SEARCH"
You will get a page with many options. Pick and choose your options.
Under the area in which you can select price ranges is another option section which allows you to select Number of Families from a drop-down box.

Good luck with your search

I know in Lindenhurst there are some two family homes on North Jefferson Avenue, one was for sale a few months ago, it is a nice area. as my friend lived there for like 10 years but upgraded to a bigger home.
