With that out of the way, the Huntington area and possibly Rockville Centre would be my suggestion as locations to explore.
Again, please keep in mind the length of time it takes here from contract to closing; I'd recommend to come "shop" before you actually move here, to stay within your 60 day rental limit (to qualify).

If you want your monthly mortgage payment to be about 1800 to 2000, you will probably be looking at a house around 275000 to 300,000 due to taxes. Someone else may have pointed this out already. I didn't read the all the postings. I may be wrong. I didn't take into consideration the ultra low interest rates available now.
