Can we deduct from our taxes for trash that is not picked up from our residence? This is the third time the waste removal company could not make it due to weather conditions. The past two times the children were able to make it to school, but it was too dangerous for Quick Way to bring their trucks out. I think we should get a reduction for services not rendered. I won't hold my breath.

Agree 100%. My normal pickup days on Monday and Thursday with recyclables on Wednesdays.

Since I know I am shorted at least 3 pickups a year to begin with. (Memorial Day, Labor day, Thanksgiving) I should be paying less garbage taxes than others.

Your towns don't handle it directly? Since you mention taxes, I assume it is them. Sorry not familiar with anything out east.

Town taxes pay for contracted service to carting companies.

In KP the only missed 1 in 16 years.......I'll give it to them. IMO, the contracted companies are much better than towns that have ther own sanatation....these guys take everything you put out there!

In Brookhaven Town, it has been 3 in the last 1-1/2 months. If there is a dusting, no pickup. I don't understand it.

I am up to my ears in red can recyclables. 3 red can days, 3 misses. We haven't had a red can pick up at all in January -- I have bottles and cans from December. Now I have a large garbage bag in addition to the red can full. This is getting frustrating.

so some time since my last new TV , crookhaven changed the pick up of TV's law, they do not pick up any more, they want you to take you time from work, and load it in your vehicle ( as long as it fits) and bring it to a specific location. in my case I work these hours the location is open and really cannot afford to take the time off. if you choose to leave it on the side of the road by your curb, you will be summons, another cost related to them not picking up. what was the savings on there part, how does it benefit us as citizens? isn't all the changes the town maks supposed to help us. NOT IN BROOKAVEN TOWN, it only helps themselves.
