...that guy will learn when he steps in it the next day..or his dog will
I think you did the right thing.
Only reason I might leave some poop behind is if he poops in a pitch dark spot of the grass and I couldn't feel for it...
so sometimes I squat down and stick my hand in the bag under my dog's butt and catch it before it hits the ground...i have never seen anyone do this so i'm sure they stare at me when they drive by.
neighbor's dog is always let out wandering and goes on our front yard... he even gets into our garbage sometimes. Well last week it pooped in our front yard again... I put a stick right next to it in the grass which is right by their driveway. Ever since, I haven't seen the dog let out on its own anymore and I also saw it actually being walked once. The first time it happened I showed him... this time he's not even picking it up but recognizes it's a problem. The poop is still on the lawn... kinda frozen. I leave it there as a reminder that this shouldn't happen again. When it gets warm I guess I gotta go pick it up so my kids can run around out there again.
Wow, I finally found a site that addresses the exact problem I am having! Strongly agree with the 9mm to the a**hole's head, but let's not get carried away. This snotnose and her dog were standing at the end of my driveway, right on the grass strip, when I pulled into my driveway one night. She scared the crap out of me, and then, when I got my wits about me, I realized that the dog was crapping on the grass right in front of me !!!! Again, got my wits about me and politely asked her to please not walk her dog on the grass strip because I put my garbage out right there at night, sometimes in my slippers. She responded with, "Well, I think it's allowed as long as you clean it up." OH MY GOD. Do you think I should just invite her in for coffee, and her dog can just go ahead and crap in my yard?
I wouldn't give a rats ass if she cleaned it up, don't have the dog poop on your property period. This is why I don't have or want a dog. I know someone who had a neighbor and their dog would get out from the yard and go into theirs and poop. Needless to say the next time that dog wanderd into the yard there was nice treat for him...a hamburger laced with rat poison. serves you right.

LUBBY! OMG! I feel bad for the dog. The neighbor deserved a special baked treat laced with Exlax instead!

well the dog also tried to attack and bite my friend as well. The neighbor was also a drunk looser and did not care if his dog got out. I would never do that but oh well too late. this happened like 10 years ago.
