Are there any laws/restrictions in Manhasset that would not allow you to put an inground pool in? (I know that in Garden City the property needs to be at least a 1/2 acre, but wasn't sure about Manhasset) Thanks!

If you're looking at a property in the Hamlet of Manhasset, then you would ask the Town of North Hempstead Building Department; but, if you're looking at a property in one of the several villages (Village of Plandome Manor, Village of Plandome, Village of Plandome Heights, Village of Munsey Park, Village of Flower Hill, Village of North Hills and Village of Thomaston) that are all or partly in the "Manhasset, NY 11030" ZIP Code postal zone, and hence have "Manhasset, NY 11030" mailing addresses, then you would want to contact the respective village.
For those who may not be familiar with Manhasset:
Manhasset is a hamlet (an unincorporated area) in the central part of the Town of North Hempstead in the northwest part of Nassau County.
Beginning on the north and moving in a clockwise direction, the Hamlet of Manhasset in the Town of North Hempstead is bordered on the north by the Village of Plandome Heights, the Village of Flower Hill and the Village of Munsey Park; on the east by the Village of Roslyn Estates; on the south by the Village of North Hills; and, on the west by the Village of Lake Success, the Village of Thomaston, the Village of Kensington and the Village of Great Neck.
Manhasset is one of those villages and hamlets on Long Island where the majority of places with the community name in their mailing address are not in the hamlet: places that have a "Manhasset, NY 11030" mailing address that are not in the Hamlet of Manhasset are in the Village of Plandome Manor, the Village of Plandome, the Village of Plandome Heights, the Village of Munsey Park, the Village of Flower Hill, the Village of North Hills and the Village of Thomaston

I would inquire in the villages' town halls (munsey park, flower hill, plandome and strathmore) about the particulars. There are many pools I've seen in flower hill and I know of a friend who moved from Munsey Park to Flower Hill so that they could build an in-ground pool. She had a lot of issues in Munsey Park, but I don't know the specifics.
Towns have town halls, villages have village halls.

There is no Village of Strathmore in the Town of North Hempstead, nor in either the Town of Hempstead or the Town of Oyster Bay in Nassau County.

It's 2 1/2 years later - wonder if the OP still cares
