Best Arborvitie via mail order for Long Island (Babylon, North Babylon: buying, garden)

Has any one had luck buying bare root arborvitae plants via mail order and planting here?I Am mid island on the north shore western Suffolk co.The nursery stock here is quite expensive even for a 3 ft. plant and am hoping to save with mail order.TIA for any advise.

I was going to mail order some once but then I noticed they were listed as one foot or less. Since arborvitae is used mainly as a hedge, that means they wouldn't be of any use for about 15 years and I would have to guess at the space they were going to need 15 years from now

If you don't need them right away, wait till end of season and you can usually pick them up cheaper. We got about %25 off plus a nice for the seller to come plant them.

Stables Garden Center

This company is out in East Moriches and they're getting $18 for a 3-4' arborvitae. There's also a Stables in North Babylon which I believe is the same family.

Thanks but we answered the ad re: Moriches,went all the way out there and was told they had just sold all for that money but have many for a lot more $$, I wounder if it was a scam ??
