We got an absolutely heavenly Pizza at Branchinelli's last night (I think it's in Hauppauge? or is it Smithtown?). That elusive and perfect ratio of sauce to cheese on a really good crust. We got the shaved eggplant pie. We will DEFINITELY go back.

What is your favorite pizza on the island?

Try Colosseo in port jeff. station. Located by route 112 by DMV. This place has been rated one of the best for years on Long Island ----but cash only!!! By the way try it with MEATBALLS!

The just open a new place on 347 in Commack across from the Post Office. It is called Catania Caffe. They offer free delivery with in a 5 mile radius so I figured I would try it. OMG! I could not get over how delicious it was. Perfect cheese and sauce ratio. The crust was cooked perfectly. I do not know what they do to their sauce but it is awesome and I will never order from anywhere else, free delivery or not. Hope they stay in business.

Funny, I love the dinners at Branchinelli's but not the pizza.

We LOVE Uncle Joe's in Lake Grove. It is in the Burlington Coat Factory shopping center. There are probably 5 or 6 pizzerias closer but we always go there. The sicilian is awesome. The owner is a super nice elderly gentleman.

I have a few favorite pizza places that I like for different types of pizza:

Buffalo Chicken pizza - Emilio's in Commack & Fanatico's in Hicksville/Jericho area

Regular slice - Short Stop Pizza in Kings Park...bread is very tasty..

Regular slice, margherita slice, chicken cutlet slice and chicken cutlet hero with lettuce and tomato - Mama Felicia's located in Franks Steakhouse shopping center in Westbury on Jericho Turnpike

Balsamic chicken slice - Phil's in Syosset in King Kullen shopping center

Regular slice or taco slice - Two Brother's Pizzeria on Newbridge Road in Levittown

La Piazza also has very good pizza (crispino slice is really good).

I eat pizza on almost a daily basis...Can anyone tell? LOL..

Short Stop does have good pizza. I used to go to Brooklyn Pizza on Jericho in Commack until they decided to use less dough in their pizza pies. Now it is so think when you pick it up that it does not hold the cheese well at all. What a disappointment. I like to order a small pie sometimes because I rather not have extra slices around as they don't taste the same when reheated. Short Stop's small pie is too, too, doughy.
