Walking on the side of the road at night, wearing reflectors is still a good idea.
I agree, but it is up to the pedestrian to make sure he or she is not in a car's path. Keeping your back turned to cars is stupid. Expecting a car to see a black suit at night is even stupider.

Not much different than requiring the Amish to have reflectors on their buggy's. Only difference is the Amish follow the rules of the road...
