Yeah, some folks have forgotten the basics. Not many, but some, there's
always some. Besides all the hand-held flashlights, I have an old 9V powered lantern from my camping days. Gives off a real decent amount of light, doesn't gobble batteries and it sure was/is safer than the old ones.

Hoarding tip of the day - buy some of those crappy solar-powered outdoor lights. Stick them outside to charge during the day, and bring them inside at night. They provide enough light to do basic tasks like finding the bathroom/liquor cabinet.

Heh, not bad in a pinch! Oh, I knew exactly where the Vodka was! Right next to the powdered OJ and water in my appointed hidey-hole room.
*note to self: replace stock of batteries & Vodka*

I dunno why, but LED lights bother my eyes. They leave a 'retina burn' longer than other lights and seem to flicker to my old eyes. I used to get migraines and fluorescent lights bothered me, sometimes triggering a migraine. LED lights bother my eyes in a similar way. Anybody else find this happening to them?
