Back on topic...

Ad-day(Newsday) is reporting that Mandee is closing 4 more stores on LI this month.

This is why we dont need more retail space, there's a glut of it around already available.

Long meeting last night, over 3 1/2 hours according to Sachem Patch.

no voting. 80% of the 40 people who spoke...spoke against it...

Say NO to this development and talk to you Islip Town reps if you live in the area

100% Agreed. Also, they say the will create approx 2600 good paying construction jobs off the bat and will create many more jobs when they finish. Yah, good jobs off the bat sure, but when they leave...it will turn into all retail jobs that pay minimum wage. We don't need more of that. It would be nice if we could have a semi big corporation move in there an offer better paying jobs...jobs that kids have gone to school for. Not ones where they work at another "Gap".

A town is a terrible thing to waste

It WAS a long meeting. I thought it was nice to see people turn out and speak against it. I'm certainly going to post stuff about this on Twitter. I have over 100,000 followers. This is ridiculous.
