They have too many hurdles to leap to get it done. IMHO.
They would need to get a Donald Trump type who is willing to bank roll it for a part of the profit because if the public has to pay it will never fly. The taxes are too high already. As the above poster said the waterfront folk will never allow it to fly. There will always be an environmental study that doesn't pass muster. We need to start to focus on a "Jetsons" like flying machine.LOL

WE PAY $10,000 UP AND MORE FOR HOME TAXES AND CAN'T GET JOBS BECAUSE NO BUSINESSES WANT TO COME TO LI. THEY DON'T WANT TO GO THOUGH NYC AND PAY TOLLS THAT SUPPORT ONLY NYC.

I guess when you are sitting in the dark, without power, no tv, no radio, no internet lots of thoughts go through your head. Then the power comes back on and there is a psychological need to have a post vomit.
I hear that the bridges across the Sound project is back on track, but a bit scaled down. Instead of a bridge they'll be installing zip lines. Bring your own harness and helmet.
