Has anyone seen the panhandler-man that stands with a sign about losing his job, needs help supporting his family - and his family is either standing there with him (wife & kid) at shopping plaza's & supermarkets? They are nicely dressed, with a stroller, and standing out by the street in this heat.

Is this like an organized scam? Anyone know who I'm talking about?

Someone else posted about this last week.

My husband was approached twice in one week by women who claimed to have been in a fight with baby daddy and now they are fleeing to moms with baby...and can he buy them some gas?

Scammers hard at work in a down economy.

Someone else had mentioned something about this and I cant recall where it was, but it was very similar -- man, wife, and child.

As the economy continues along the way it has, we can anticipate more of this. To some extent I want to believe this is a scam.

A few times I've gotten people with similar nonsense tales about "I'm from out east and my car broke down, I need money for cab fare to the train station" yet their car is nowhere to be found. The third time I heard this dumb story, I offered to give the guy a lift to the train station since I was gonna be going right past it anyway... what a shock, he declined.

Panhandlers, lose these ridiculous stories and be honest - if you're like "spare a couple bucks for beer and cigs?" then I might give it to you, but come at me with stupid lies and I won't even give you the pennies in my car's ashtray.

Yes I saw them and I posted about this is another thread. They were seen by me last week by the East Islip Stop and shop under one of trees that leads out to Irish lane.
